Andrew's Vision

As a product of Kanawha County Schools and the son of a life-long teacher, I truly understand the issues facing West Virginia’s education system. Over the past two years, I worked hard with teachers, school personnel, parents and students to develop meaningful curriculum and testing for our students. I will continue to work hard to ensure that teachers and school personnel have the resources needed to secure a successful future for our students.

Seniors are a fast growing population in West Virginia. We need to provide our seniors with the highest standard of care and benefits they deserve. Seniors have lived the past, and have shaped our future. We need to make certain that West Virginia seniors receive the protections they earned through a lifetime of hard work.

We have an obligation to care for and honor all veterans for their service, bravery and sacrifice. When our freedom was threatened, our veterans protected and preserved it. As true American heroes, our commitment to West Virginia Veterans and their families needs to be strong and of the utmost importance.

Jobs and Economic Development

Recognizing that the availability of good paying jobs and a strong economy are essential to the people of West Virginia, I fought hard in the Legislature to promote job creation and economic growth. We need to not only expand current businesses in West Virginia, but also to diversify our economy by attracting new businesses so that all West Virginians have the opportunity to find work.

West Virginia Resources

West Virginia’s natural resources have provided jobs, created opportunities and supported our families for decades. We need to ensure that this continues in the future. We must support innovation
in these industries that keep our people working while ensuring that West Virginia’s landscape stays wild and wonderful.

West Virginia Infrastructure

We can all agree that West Virginia’s aging roads, bridges and infrastructure network are in bad shape. Our infrastructure is only
going to get worse unless we start dealing with it now. That is why I introduced legislation that would prioritize spending based upon the condition of the roads and bridges and the input of the citizens, and
not by arbitrary means. As your Delegate, I will continue to work hard
to develop a long term plan to not only maintain, but also modernize West Virginia’s roadways.

The Drug Epidemic

While in the Legislature, I worked diligently with federal, state and
local authorities, educators, and community members to introduce legislation that would not only fight drug trafficking in our State, but
also help those suffering from addiction/substance abuse to get the assistance they need. I also introduced forward thinking legislation
that would bring drug prevention education programs to the classrooms of our students. Educating our youth on the devastating effects of substance abuse is of vital importance.
